Knowledge, Awareness and Perception on Burning Mouth Syndrome among Dental Students-A Survey

Introduction: Burning mouth syndrome is a condition distinguished by painful burning sensation of the tongue and mucosal tissue mouth, lips palate that lasts from few days to months. Common symptoms include in altered taste xerostomia or dry despite normal salivation. Treatment BMS either local systemic medications temporarily relieve on improving quality life. Menopausal postmenopausal women with hormonal changes psychological disorders have higher risk developing syndrome.
 Aim: The aim this study evaluate assess knowledge, awareness perception among dental students.
 Materials Methods: A cross sectional survey was conducted students about syndrome. population are sample size 100. questionnaire consisted 14 questions shared using online platform. Frequency table prepared for each question analysed spss data analysis software.
 Results Discussion: 82% participants were aware 18% not aware. 69% problems like anxiety, depression can cause bms whereas 31% aware
 Conclusion: moderate level Most but there still group teenagers who More better understanding will result management treatment plans.
